Fun with cousins!

We were up in Northern VA for a long weekend this past weekend. My brother and his family were in town. We only see them once or twice a year, but when we do the kids get along so well and have a great time playing. It was nice to have some extra arms to hold the babies, feed them, and change some diapers, too.

Matthias and Leighton are looking more and more different every day. They are both filling out some and are having bigger times of being awake and alert during the day. Night time is still difficult, but we're getting into somewhat of a routine of feeding and burping and changing. The other day AJ was on the potty and needed help and both babies were hungry, so I ended up making two bottles....Josiah fed Matthias, Kylie fed Leighton, and I got to help AJ in the bathroom. Life is definitely a bit crazy, but we're making it work....only by God's grace, that's for sure. :)

Matthias and Leighton

here they are....Matthias is generally more alert than Leighton - Kylie says that he has laser eyes, b/c they are so big and wide. The second picture is before their first sponge bath at home...they didn't like it very much. :) Night time has been tiring, but everyone is really doing well!

Need more sleep!

We got home on Saturday around lunchtime!! The past three nights have been tiring, but last night was definitely better than the first two....so hopefully we're getting into the groove of life with two newborns. :) The kids are very proud of their baby brother and baby sister and have been really helpful to me.
AJ still doesn't remember their names...she calls them "that girl baby" and "that boy baby". I said something about Leighton yesterday and she asks me "is that the girl or the boy?"
Matthias is looking quite yellow in this picture....we actually were back at the hospital yesterday for a blood test to see where his bilirubin levels were...he was okay, but we're keeping an eye on him. It's fun to have two babies...they are such a picture of God's grace to us!

Double Blessing

Matthias Timothy was born on Wednesday, 3/7 at 10:54. His little sister Leighton Ann followed at 10:55. Matthias was 6'3" and Leighton was 4'8". Both are doing great.

Kylie, Josiah and AJ were very excited to meet their little brother and sister!

Belly shot

Alright, here it is....my belly on the night before! (our two little carseats are kind of in the background, too) My c-section is scheduled for 10:20 tomorrow morning (Wednesday the 7th). Very surreal...hard to believe! Our next post will hopefully be some cute pictures of babies!

A blessed baby shower!

Some good friends of mine threw me a baby shower this weekend. It was a little overwhelming but absolutely wonderful...I felt so very loved. I'm working through this bittersweetness of being able to be here and have these babies around people I know and love - and also looking towards our move to Florida and starting (in a lot of ways) a new life. Tom and I took out the new carseats this weekend and put them together and sat them on the floor next to each other....one little pink gingham and striped seat and one green and blue plaid seat. We just sat and looked at them. I think that the reality of what is about to happen is so totally out of our realm of comprehension. God does not give us more than we can handle with His help, right? :)

snow fun!

We've had a few snow days and are really trying to take advantage of them since they will probably be our last snow days for the next couple of years! The kids have loved sledding down this hill into our parking lot....they only hit a parked car once. :)

Kind of a dark shot, but more snow fun with some friends!

I'm hoping to get a belly shot up for everyone soon....I'm definitely getting bigger. The latest update is that our little boy is about 5lbs 6ozs and our little girl is about 3lbs 14 ozs. Josiah is still very excited that the boy is bigger than the girl. I am 35 weeks this week, so truly we could have these babies anytime! We are also in the midst of signing a contract to buy a house in Wauchula, FL!! Seems like a lot is going to happen in the next couple of weeks and months.
